Nieya Amezquita
Originally from Decatur, GA, Nieya trained at the DanceMakers of Atlanta under the guidance of Lynise and Denise Heard. In order to be a versatile dancer, she trained in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, pointe, tap, and musical theater for the majority of her childhood. She spent her summers attending training programs such as The Joffrey Ballet and The Rock School of Ballet.
In 2019, she went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Dance and a BS in Psychology. During her time at UGA, Nieya became a founding company member of both CADE:NCE and Linds&Co. These companies gave her the opportunity to perform nationally and internationally including the American College Dance Association (Orlando), Rettleford Nex Conference (Jamaica), Collegium for African Diaspora (North Carolina), and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (New York). After graduation, Nieya studied in Cascais, Portugal in Gaga technique and choreographic creation where her passion for choreography was ignited. She discovered the perfect merge of her two fields of interest: using dance as an artistic medium to explore, understand and discuss human psychological concepts.

Currently, Nieya is dancing professionally in Minneapolis with Arena Dances, Rhythmically Speaking, eMartin Dance and Corpus Dance Works. She has also performed with Threads Dance Project, Elayna Waxse Movement Projects, Concerto Dance, Off-Leash Area, and Doma Dance Theater. Additionally Nieya's work has been presented in the Blackness Is Arts festival produced by the Guthrie Theater, the CandyBox festival produced by Arena Dances, commissioned by Threads Dance Project, Alternative Motion Project and Ballet Co'Laboratory. And in 2023, Nieya furthered her professional development by founding and leading her own dance company, Amez Dance.
